This year over 1,200 industry colleagues attended the sold out GroceryAid Sporting Heroes Luncheon at The Grosvenor House Hotel London. HTL worked collaboratively with a team of event specialists to deliver this glittering occasion.
A staggering £635,347 was raised on the day, a record amount for this event, through tickets sales and generous donations from numerous table sponsors, including the likes of Heineken, Warburton’s, ASDA and Coca-Cola. Judith Batchelar, Director of Sainsbury’s Brand, commented “This event is unique in the industry calendar and there is nothing to top this. I think most people would say this is the one event they never want to miss and it just seems to get bigger every year”.
John Inverdale and Natalie Pinkham guided the guests through the day, featuring an interview with David Coulthard, a memorable Q&A with Lawrence Dallaglio and Graeme Swann which had the audience roaring with laughter, as well as an interview with Zara Tindall which led to a great discussion involving Mike Tindall.
This event is highly rewarding for the HTL team, steering away from the traditional black tie dinner to create a fun and engaging format which for many companies is this highlight of their calendar year. “HTL have done an outstanding job for us at the Lunch and I am very grateful. We looked to move all elements of all events on and actually the hardest was always going to be the lunch such was its reputation. So to have made that much progress is a testament to your hard work and contacts.” Steve Barnes, Chief Executive, GroceryAid
