Katharine Merry wowed the audience as host at the magnificent IAAF Athletics Awards 2017, held in Monaco. The former 400m runner and now sports broadcaster, presented the awards in the company of IAAF President, Sebastian Coe and HSH Prince Albert of Monaco.
HTL was privileged to lead the delivery of the event for a second successive year, at the Grimaldi Forum, in collaboration with PrettyGreen and Deadpan Films. It was a glittering occasion attended by athletes, who flew into Monaco from across the globe.
Tributes were paid to Usain Bolt who received the President’s Award. Rising Star Awards were won by Karsten Warholm (400m hurdles) and Yulimar Rojas (triple jump).
Lord Coe and Prince Albert presented the main awards of the night for the IAAF World Athletes of the Year to Mutaz Essa Barshim (high jump) and Nafissatou Thiam (heptathlon).
HTL was also delighted to work with the IAAF during the summer to support the delivery of the Athletics Connect conference for the global athletics community at London ExCel, just prior to the World Championships.
