“This event is unique in the industry calendar and there is nothing to top this. I think most people would say this is the one event they never want to miss and it just seems to get bigger every year." - Judith Batchelar, Director of Sainsbury's Brand

“We thought the event was excellent – the best one yet and I think the new venue worked much better." - Simon Amor, Director Off-Trade at Heineken

This year over 1,200 industry colleagues attended the sold out GroceryAid Sporting Heroes Luncheon at The Grosvenor House Hotel London. HTL worked collaboratively with a team of event specialists to deliver this glittering occasion.

A staggering £515,000 was raised on the day, through tickets sales and generous donations from numerous table sponsors, including the likes of Heineken, Warburton’s, Tesco and Coca-Cola.

Katharine Merry and John Inverdale guided the guests through the day, featuring a speech from Lord Sebastian Coe, a memorable Q&A with Alan Shearer and Mike Tindall which had the audience roaring with laughter, and a magic performance from the one and only Pete Firman.

Throughout the day, GroceryAid also recognised the contribution of volunteers who have given their time to help the charity in its work in 2018.
