Collaboration was the key message Barry Osbiston, Director at CSC, a global IT solutions business, took away after attending HTL’s Brilliant Minds Summer Showcase. Seeing an opportunity to further develop an important client-supplier relationship, Barry commissioned HTL to translate the impactful speeches of Olly Rees and Professor Martin Elliott, into a content rich workshop.
The key aim was to inspire a growth mind-set within the client-supplier partnership. The event, facilitated by HTL’s own Alice Thorneycroft, involved twenty members of each of the business’ teams.
Digital disruption driving collaboration
Oliver Rees’ technology session looked at the way in which digital disruption has forced start-ups to collaborate in innovative ways. Taking inspiration from Olly’s input, delegates broke into smaller groups and applied this strategic viewpoint to approach the challenges facing their own businesses.
Inner workings of a successful team
Later in the day, Professor Martin Elliott used his wealth of experience at Great Ormond Street Hospital to determine key behaviours in achieving excellence and outlined how to drive these behaviours through collaborative partnership. His session delved deep into the inner workings of a successful team; identifying trust, leadership and fearlessness as crucial factors. This created the platform from which the two teams created their own ground rules to promote joint success.
